About the Pharmacogenomic Test

What is the Pharmacogenomic Test

Personalized service for checking the genes associated with the mechanism of the action of the drug in question as a means to increase its effectiveness and prevent potential side effects, thereby ensuring that the prescription is suitable for the individual concerned.

Purpose

Why the Pharmacogenomic Test is necessary?

Each individual has different genetic information, and this means that the effects of a drug will vary from individual to individual. For this reason, taking the same drug in the same dose may result in adverse effects or a lack of therapeutic effects for some people. A pharmacogenomic test provides information that can help prepare for a medical emergency associated with adverse reactions to the drug in question.

  • SCARs: Severe Cutaneous Adverse Reactions

SCARs, which are typically triggered by drugs (anticonvulsants, medications for gout, etc.) or viruses, refer to an aggravated skin condition. It may sometimes be caused by a malignant tumor or an unknown cause. Depending on the extent of the skin reaction, it is called the Stevens Johnson Syndrome (SJS) or Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN).

  • Hemorrhage

Abnormal bleeding may occur as a result of an excessive inhibition of blood clot formation in the body, as a side effect of anticoagulants, which are usually prescribed for circulatory disorders. Hemorrhaging can take many forms including bleeding of the gums, nosebleeds, bruises, hematuria, and cerebral hemorrhage. Abdominal pain from abdominal hemorrhage and skin necrosis due to subcutaneous hemorrhage may potentially occur.
